Privacy Policy
Effective: August 2, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how StudyLive (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use StudyLive Global (the “Service”). It also explains the choices available to you.
1. Information we collect
Account and profile information
- account identifier, email address, display name, profile photo, country or region, and profile details;
- information supplied by Apple or Google when you choose social sign-in, subject to your settings with that provider;
- authentication and account-security records.
Learning and community information
- study sessions, duration, subjects, materials, goals, plans, reminders, streaks, and progress;
- room membership and presence, friendships, groups, reactions, comments, reports, blocks, and other community activity;
- content and images you choose to upload.
Purchase and subscription information
- product, entitlement, transaction, renewal, and subscription status supplied by Apple, Google, or RevenueCat.
We do not receive or store your full payment-card number.
Device, usage, and diagnostics
- app version, device and operating-system information, language, time zone, IP address, general region, interactions, and feature usage;
- crash logs, performance data, and technical diagnostics;
- push-notification token and notification preferences;
- advertising identifiers and ad interaction data where advertising is enabled and permitted by your settings and applicable law.
2. How we use information
- provide authentication, sync, study tracking, live rooms, goals, rankings, and community features;
- personalize onboarding, rooms, reminders, and the experience you request;
- process and restore purchases and manage subscriptions;
- deliver notifications you enable;
- display and measure advertising for eligible free users;
- analyze reliability and usage, troubleshoot problems, and improve the Service;
- prevent fraud, ranking manipulation, abuse, and security incidents; enforce our Terms;
- respond to support, privacy, and legal requests and comply with law.
3. Information visible to other users
StudyLive is a social study service. Depending on the feature and your settings, other signed-in users may see your display name, profile image, country flag, bio, current study status, study time, streak, ranking, room or group participation, and content or reactions you post. Your email address, authentication credentials, purchase information, private reports, and block list are not displayed to other users.
4. When we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information:
- with other users as described above;
- with service providers that process information for us under appropriate safeguards;
- when you direct us or consent;
- to comply with law, legal process, or valid government requests;
- to protect users, the public, our rights, or the security of the Service;
- as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, or transfer of assets, subject to appropriate notice and protection.
5. Service providers
- Google Firebase and Google Cloud: authentication, database, file storage, analytics, crash reporting, remote configuration, cloud functions, and push messaging. See Google Privacy Policy.
- Google AdMob: advertising and measurement. Advertising identifiers may be used where allowed. See How Google uses information for advertising.
- RevenueCat: subscription and purchase-entitlement management. See RevenueCat Privacy Policy.
- Apple and Google Play: sign-in where selected, app distribution, and payment processing.
6. Legal bases and your choices
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we process information to perform our contract with you, pursue legitimate interests such as security and product improvement, comply with legal obligations, or based on consent. You may:
- edit profile, goal, room, and notification settings in the app;
- control camera, photo-library, notification, and tracking permissions in device settings;
- manage subscriptions in your App Store or Google Play account;
- request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability where local law provides those rights;
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting prior processing.
7. Data retention and account deletion
We keep information while your account is active and as reasonably needed for the purposes above. You can permanently delete your account from the in-app settings. We then delete or de-identify associated personal information, including account, profile, study, and uploaded-image data, except where limited retention is reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, backups, dispute resolution, or legal obligations. Backup copies may remain for a limited period before being overwritten. Content already incorporated into a shared conversation may be retained in de-identified form when necessary to preserve that conversation.
Account deletion is irreversible. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription purchased through Apple or Google; cancel it separately in the applicable store.
8. International data transfers
StudyLive is operated from Japan and uses global service providers. Your information may be processed in Japan, the United States, and other countries whose data-protection laws may differ from those where you live. Where required, we use recognized safeguards for international transfers.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including access controls and encrypted transport. No internet service is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has provided information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it. Users below the age of legal majority should obtain permission from a parent or guardian.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy as the Service or law changes. We will post the updated date and provide additional notice in the app when a change is material.
